Puget sur Argens has been occupied by humans since prehistoric times, as evidenced by Paleolithic and Neolithic tools found on the site. In Roman times, the village, then called Pogito, prospered thanks to the Via Aurelia, which linked Rome to Gaul. Milestones and stone millstones, still visible today, are reminders of this past.
